To qualify for a Yes resolution, the outlet must explicitly report that Amelia Earhart’s plane has been definitively discovered or use equivalent phrasing (e.g., “confirmed found,” “positively identified,” or “conclusively located”). Reports must clearly convey that experts or authorities have identified the wreckage as belonging to Amelia Earhart’s plane. This may include, e.g., but not limited to: Physical recovery or verified imaging of the aircraft or its remains, Identification through serial numbers or unique aircraft parts, or Confirmation by recognized authorities or credible experts cited by the outlet. Mentions of ongoing searches, possible findings, preliminary evidence, or unverified claims do not meet the Payout Criterion unless the outlet itself states that the plane has been definitively discovered or equivalent wording.
