About PLEB
Plebbit is a censorship-resistant, serverless peer-to-peer social media platform where users and communities are identified by cryptographic keys, not usernames. Built entirely open-source, it eliminates centralized servers and moderators using a pub/sub network and public key-based addressing. The PLEB token (ERC-20) powers governance, content curation, and tipping, enabling holders to vote on protocol upgrades, support communities, and access perks. Community boards, called subplebbits, are created and managed independently, with moderation rights resting entirely with their founders. Frontends like Plebchan, Seedit, and Plebones provide various user interfaces to engage with the protocol. Despite its decentralized promise, users should be aware that the contract currently allows fee and minting changes by its creator.
