Namada is a sovereign, interchain Proof-of-Stake Layer 1 blockchain built by the Anoma Foundation to provide asset-agnostic privacy across networks. Using CometBFT consensus and a Sapling-derived Multi-Asset Shielded Pool (MASP), Namada lets users shield any fungible or non-fungible token, native or bridged via IBC or Ethereum, hiding balances and transaction metadata while retaining full composability. Built on the Cosmos SDK with IBC interoperability and an Ethereum bridge, Namada incentivizes privacy and public goods via staking rewards and on-chain governance, making data protection a public good for all participants
Namada is a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain using CometBFT (formerly Tendermint) PoS consensus. It enables confidential transfers of any token via a unified shielded pool, while supporting transparent staking, governance, and cross-chain interoperability.
Namada implements a Multi-Asset Shielded Pool (MASP) built on a Sapling-derived zero-knowledge circuit. Users deposit tokens into the MASP to shield their balances and transaction details, yet can still interact with DeFi and IBC-enabled protocols seamlessly.
Namada is built on the Cosmos SDK and fully supports IBC for privacy-preserving and transparent transfers to Cosmos chains. It also provides a trust-minimized bridge to Ethereum, with Solana support planned.
Token holders can bond NAM as delegators or run validator nodes to secure the network. Delegators earn staking rewards proportional to their stake, while validators earn rewards and can be slashed for misbehavior.
All NAM holders can submit and vote on proposals, such as parameter changes, code upgrades, or Public Goods Funding allocations, using their on-chain voting power. A minimum stake threshold applies to proposal creation.
PGF is a dedicated governance stream where elected stewards allocate NAM to community-led projects, infrastructure, and research. Stewards are chosen by token holder votes to oversee fund distribution.
Use the Namada Keychain browser extension for transparent (‘tnam…’) and shielded (‘znam…’) addresses, the Namada CLI & File System Wallet for power users, Ledger hardware via Keychain, or the Namadillo web/mobile interface.
NAM is listed on Gate, KuCoin, and MEXC (NAM/USDT pairs) and on Osmosis DEX (USDC/NAM) for on-chain IBC liquidity.
Yes. Shielded tokens remain composable and can be used in IBC-compatible DeFi protocols and dApps without revealing transaction data, unlocking private liquidity markets and swaps.
Use Namada’s IBC connections to transfer Cosmos-based tokens, or the trust-minimized Ethereum bridge to bring ERC-20 assets on-chain. Once bridged, assets can be shielded in the MASP.
