About DEEP
DeepBook (DEEP) is the utility and governance token of DeepBook, the first native on-chain central limit order book (CLOB) protocol on the Sui blockchain. Built to bring traditional market efficiency to the decentralized ecosystem, DeepBook enables advanced trading functionality, liquidity aggregation, and programmable execution within the Sui Layer 1 environment. DeepBook offers a permissionless CLOB architecture that allows any developer, protocol, or application to integrate order book-based trading directly into their products. Unlike automated market makers (AMMs), which rely on liquidity pools and slippage-based pricing, DeepBook provides deterministic price discovery and matching logic similar to centralized exchanges. The DEEP token serves several key purposes: it powers governance through the DeepDAO, incentivizes liquidity provision and protocol usage, and will be used for future features such as fee discounts and staking. DEEP is designed to be the core coordination asset across the DeepBook ecosystem, enabling users and developers to shape the future of decentralized trading on Sui. As a foundational component of the Sui DeFi stack, DeepBook is optimized for low-latency, high-throughput execution and is compatible with composable smart contracts. It opens new design spaces for trading infrastructure in DeFi, enabling professional-grade order book trading in a fully decentralized, non-custodial environment.
